Although iPod Shuffle’s wonderful ad “Life is random” brings iPod Shuffle a large number of sales, as Shuffle is short of proper user control panel, some simple system failures bring many troubles to users.
Fortunately, Apple supportive team figured out a solution—recover to default factory setting. By connecting iPod Shuffle to a computer, and use iPod Rest Utility, we can completely reset iPod, and the program is compatible with the iPod of first and second generations.
iPod Rest Utility is based on Windows platform, we can use it just connecting the device through USB port to a computer. Then the reset program would completely clear all music data on the iPod. Besides, it seems that there’s no relevant Mac OS X version for it.
iPod Shuffle Reset Utility could be used for solving the next problems:
1. iPod Shuffle cannot play music, cannot connect iTunes correctly.
2. Although iPod Shuffle exists in Windows device manager, it cannot be recognized by iTunes.
