Q: I want to partition without loss with Partition Magic software, the purpose is to distribute a part of space of drive C out, but I downloaded many versions, when running, it always prompts “Partition’s drive letter can not be identified”, whether the version I download is not correct?
A: the error occurs, usually is because the partition table data is in mess or the partition structure is in disorder. If you can provide the type and array sequence of each partition, then we can help you analyze concretely and provide reliable revise solution. But so far we can only suggest you changing other partition tool to deal with, such as Disk Genuis (3.2 version), Partition Manager, Acronis Disk Director are all quite good choices. Here I want to warn you that what so-called “Partition without loss” is not that reliable, in order to keep perfectly safe, suggest you first making backup for the partition table and the data on drive C, then boot to Windows PE environment, and then boot to Windows PE environment to start partition operation. Besides, the space separated from drive C must be first converted to logical partition, then could be combined together with the latter disk volumes.
