Every time when I start my HP laptop, it would enter to HP start interface, the screen is just black, showing “Press ESC button for start-up” (please press ESC key to continue), whereas, system still could not work normally. After pressing ESC button, system starting has ceasing symptom, I tried removing out the battery, press F1 or F12 and so on, but it’s still unsolved. What should I do? All kinds of diagnosis methods that operation system could not be started, shown as below:
First when check up starting, whether the laptop has already started booting operation system. Combining with flowchart 06, put a bootable pure DOS Memtest86 software disc to DVD-ROM/CD-ROM to check up the memory. If the laptop is in normal status, besides, memory passes the test of the software, then it means the failure is on software or hard disk. If when starting the disc, system goes down, blue screen occurs or system restarts, generally, the failure range should be on motherboard or memory.
Here we only analyze software or hard disk failure: if DVD-ROM/CD-ROM could start normally, while when boot up system from hard disk, system goes down, blue screen occurs or system auto restarts, then it means the partition table of the disk and the primary master record is OK, excluding the possibility that disk partition table is broken, disk master boot record is damaged, keyboard partition end mark is missing and some other failure causes.
