Q:
When my laptop turns off, as long as I press shortcut key, it would start up. And true power key also has the same function. And this is the only first shortcut key, which might caused by some strange reason, because sometimes I would always touch those sensitive shortcut keys by accident, and it really annoys me much. Is this a normal symptom? I know this is not a big deal, but it’s really troublesome, hope you can help me figure out some solutions. Thank you!
A:
1) Yes, I think it’s normal, especially on Toshiba and Dell laptops. When you press a media key, machine would start up, and this is because the action has been designed into a restart environment naturally. If the media startup software is deleted, then it would start and enter system.
2) It’s really a function, when laptop is turned off, just press the shortcut key, then you can quickly enter media interface. So you can watch movies and listen to music and so on, but not to enter system really. Anyhow, as the release of shortcut 3.0, the function could only enter system and then run shortcut function, totally deny the original intention designed previously. And hope this could help.
