3.1.3 Common failure maintenance for laptop power system
1. First of all, check up power adapter whether it’s connected correctly (you could shake the power adapter’s joint slightly to check whether there’s connection failure), if there’s something abnormal, then you should change the joint of the power adapter.
2. Check up power adapter’s the external insulated cover of the power cable to see whether there’s a crack. If yes, then you should change the power cable or use professional insulated adhesive plaster to pack it up, in case short circuit or creepage.
3. Move battery and then install it back to laptop, check whether the battery is all right. If the connection is still not good, then you should check up the power faucet on the laptop board to see whether there’s something damaged or distorted. Besides you should check up the battery contacts to make sure the flexibility is not reduced.
4. If it’s not a bad connection problem, then use a multimeter to test power adapter or battery output voltage. If there’s something abnormal, then you should change the broken power adapter or battery.
5. If everything seems OK, then the failure might be on the laptop’s power board or motherboard. Next open the laptop’s shell, check up the connection between power board and motherboard. (Most power boards are connected with motherboards) If there’s bad connection, change a new power faucet or install a new power board.
6. If the connection is OK, then use replacement met
